Genesis

At the origins.

It all began in 1999, with 4×4 expeditions in the Andes — a handful of friends charting their own course across Latin America, serendipity before its time. Through encounters and discoveries, we diversified — trans-American routes, llama caravans, kayaking, cycling, capoeira, wine, astronomy — in Africa, in Australia, in Europe, always with the same guiding thread: the experience of travel, and innovation in its service. Then came the crises — health, ecological — and the conviction that we could no longer travel as we once had. We chose the third way: that of the living world.

Today Terra φ is born. Not a fresh start, but a culmination : the signature that brings together the very best of all these years on the ground. We keep only the essential — a selection of exceptional journeys, alive, resolutely high-end. The ones we would dream of living ourselves, at least once in a lifetime.

Etymology

Terra.

From the Latin terra — the earth, the ground, the land. Terra incognita : the uncharted lands, those the maps do not yet show.

Terra φ belongs to this tradition — a land that appears on no ordinary map.

Irrational. Infinite. Present everywhere in the living world — the nautilus shell, the arrangement of sunflower seeds, the proportions of the human face, the architecture of Palladio, the cathedral of Notre-Dame.

φ is a principle of balance. A measure that summons beauty without seeking it.
